SELKIE SAVES WHAT'S WORTH SAVING
|
Worth Protecting
There are things in this world that are worth protecting. We are Tugboat Enterprises, the publisher of Selkie Rescue Data Recovery Software. We are located on the west coast of British Columbia, and we see hummingbirds, eagles, seals, whales and bears in our backyards and out of our windows every day! It's a fascinating place to be, and this wildlife and the places they live are important to us. That's why we're donating 10% of every sale of Selkie Rescue Data Recovery Software on this website to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). We are honoured to be associated with IFAW. You can help prevent animal cruelty and protect wildlife in their environment by purchasing Selkie Rescue Data Recovery.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT WESTCOAST WILDLIFE; DID YOU KNOW...?
 |
Pelagic Cormorants live along coastal waters and bays, nesting in colonies on steep sea cliffs and rocky islets. They are often seen perched upright with their wings spread out for drying, and they often nest on ledges so narrow that they are forced to take off backwards, facing the cliff. These cormorants are pictured nesting on a narrow ledge of a breakwater hulk at Powell River's local pulp and paper mill. |

An adult bald eagle can have a wingspan up to 2.5 metres, and is easily recognized by its snow-white head, yellow, hooked bill, and brownish-black body. The name "bald" is derived from the Old English word "balde," which means white. Tugboat Enterprises is located next to a farm, where the eagles swoop down to pluck wool from the sheep (much to the sheep's dismay!) Around here, eagles have the most luxurious nests! |

Orcas are the largest member of the dolphin family. There are three distinct orca communities found in this area - offshore, resident, and transient groups. These groups do not mate with one another and therefore can be identified by subtle differences in the shape of their dorsal fins and saddle patches. They also have different diets, behaviours, and even languages! |
